Kimuli Junior Eria joined the total of 128 males that will will play at the 2023 Nile Special Pool National Open championship.

Kimuli Junior Eria knick-named ‘the punisher’, days after winning the Wakiso District Nile Special national open Regional qualifiers title, he has boldly come up to point at winning the car as his main target in the Grand finale at Lugogo.
” Am excited to be there for the first time, last time it was played, I wasn’t 18 yet. but I feel am in good shape to beat anybody, my first target is to reach the semi-final and my main goal is to win the car nothing else.” Junior Eria told this site in an exclusive interview.
Junior Eria beat Rogers Bogere 5-2 in the final, but had beaten Kawonde Arafat 4-1 in the semi-final and Brian Wamala 4-1 in the quarter final.
Kimuli qualified along with Bogere and Kawonde whon finished 3rd when he defeated Kibirige Ali.
The young star saw off 32 men to win the Wakiso District regional qaulifiers title that saw him book a place at the Grand finale coming up in November.
The trio walked away with cash prizes, medals in addition to the trophy that was worn by the Champion at King’s Spot in Nkumba.
Kimuli, won the PAU Men’s National league last year with Mbale Pool club along with Ibra Sejjemba, Bwanika, Abbey among others.
The mini-qualifiers started in June and the regional qualifiers locked off early July and atre all expected to end in October to set the ground for the Grand Finale in November November.
Two left handers Mansoor Bwanika and Ritah Ninsiima are the holders of the prestigious title that was last played in 2018 and will be looking to defend it.
The top 8 seeds according to the last PAU rankings that include the likes of Joseph Kasozi, Simon Lubulwa, Glorious Ssenyonjo, Mansoor Bwanika, Yudah Demba Ba Sembusi, Ibrahim Musilamu Kayanja, among others didn’t take part in the qualifiers
In total, 128 male finalists and 32 female players will play at the 2023 Nile Special Pool National Open championship in Lugogo Indoor Arena, Kampala city.
From the mega Ug.shs 340,000,000 from the sponsors -Nile Special, a total of Ug.shs 38,000,000 has been reserved as prize money for the exceling top 16 (men) and quarterfinalists (women).
The official launch of the 2023 championship was held on Wednesday, June 7 at Brand House, Bugolobi in Kampala.
