
2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Kasule named in Cranes Squad to face Niger.
On-form Ibrahim Kasule Owen Baba has been summoned by Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic for the final game of the TotalEnergies 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers-Cote d’Ivoire.
The silky attacking midfielder, has been impressive since joining New York Red Bull II and has been given chance to replicate the same form in the national colours.
Kasule was earlier summoned, but he is yet to make his first appearance for his country.
The former Wakiso Giants midfielder, has been summoned alongside team mate Frank Ssebufu who will have to compete for the center forward starting slot with Basangwa, captain Okwi and Fahad Bayo.
URA FC new signing Tibita Laban, also earns his maiden national team call and he will be looking forward to replicate his form in the league in national colours.
Experienced Left back Isaac Muleme also returns to the fold and will complete for a starting place with Azizi Kayondo.
Exciting young stars Travis Mutyaba and Isma Mugulusi are other notable faces included in the 33 man squad.
The team will enter residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi starting Monday, 28th August 2023
Uganda will play Niger on 7th September at Grand Stade Marrakech in Morocco.
It should be noted that Uganda Cranes is third in Group F on 4 points and victory against Niger coupled by a defeat for Tanzania against Algeria will be enough for Uganda to qualify.
