Douglas Oyirwoth has committed himself to Uganda people’s defence forces (UPDF) Football club for another year this site can reliably report.
The versatile left footed star signed was delighted with the new deal with the soldier boys and vowed to give his best to the club.
“Its a pleasure signing a new contract with the team and am so happy here, am ready to do my best in the upcoming season” Oyirwoth stated after agreeing a new deal.
Oyirwoth managed two (2) goals and five (5) assists in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League last season.
For starters, he scored a goal of the season contender which was an equaliser against KCCA FC at the MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium against the Kasasiro Boys in the memorable game that ended 1-1.
Oyirwoth was linked to other league clubs; among them was Vipers SC and new entrants Kitara FC but negotiations failed to materialise.
Douglas, has played for Synergy Fc Masaka, Mbarara City and currently with UPDF FC.
UPDF FC narrowly survived relegation last season when they finised in 13th postion with 27 points last season just a point ahead of relegated Blacks Power FC.
UPDF lost their Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo who joined new comers Kitara FC.
UPDF has also parted ways with former Captain Ibrahim Wammanah to URA FC, Centreback Ibrahim Magandazi, Sabir,and youngstar Shafik Magogo to Kitara FC
