Abubaker Mayanja, Alex Yiga and Anthony Emojong are the three young stars that have been promoted from the Junior team at KCCA FC.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football club young striker Abubaker Mayanja is happy for the promotion from the Junior team after an impressive show in then Masaza Cup and the club Junior team.
While speaking to this site, Mayanja expressed his joy and readiness to work harder with the senior team.
” I have been working hard to achieve this and I am very excited for this and i promise to work hard to get more opportunities”
The ‘Goal poacher’ as many of Ugandan Football fanatics call him, joined the KCCA Junior team in 2022 from Synergy Junior team.
He has played for the club U-17 and U-20 teams before being promoted to the senior team.
Naturally, Mayanja is hungry, and very sharp infront of goal and his close friends nicknamed him the ‘Goal poacher’.
The Mawokota Ssaza striker, is we remembered for having scored the late winner for KCCA FC U-20 against Azam U-20 in the final of the Cambiasso International Tournament in Tanzania in 2022.
The teenager scored six goals for KCCA Junior Team last season in the Kampala Region Fufa Juniors’ League.
The youngstar also won last year’s Bika Bya Baganda golden boot Accolade with Mutima Muyanja Clan when he scored 10 goals.
Mayanja playing his last season in the Masaza Cup with three time cahmpions Mawokota, scored the first goal in the tournament at Wankulukuku against holders Busiro when he was set up by Calvin Peter Emayo.
Mayanja was promoted with other teenagers; Midfielder Alex Yiga and goalkeeper Anthony Emojong for the 2023/24 season.
