Ayub Khalifah Summons Crested Cranes Provisional Squad For Olympic Qualifiers

 

Uganda national women senior team assistant coach Ayub Khalifah Kiyingi has named a provisional squad for the Paris 2024 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Qualifiers.

 

The named team is comprised of 35 players; 5 goal keepers, 11 defenders, 8 midfielders and 11 forwards and will enter camp on Thursday, 29th June at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi.

 

Uganda will face neighbours Rwanda in the first round of the qualifiers.

 

The Crested Cranes will host Rwanda on 11th July 2023 before the two teams face off in Huye a week later.

 

The winner on aggregate will then proceed to the next round where Cameroon awaits. It should be noted that the Indomitable Lionesses got a bye at the first round.

 

The U-20 National women team head coach who also doubles as assistant to the senior team, Ayub Khalifa will be in charge of this team who upon appointment as Uganda U20 Women’s National Team head coach became the assistant coach of the senior team in the new changes made by the FUFA Executive Committee.

 

According to Fufa.co.ug, screening for the Head Coach Women’s Senior Team (Crested Cranes) and Assistant coach U-17 Women’s team (Teen Cranes) and the appointments will be confirmed in due course.
