Coach Wyclef Kabiito after guiding Entebbe Pride to Regional League, is not ready to settle before the team achieves their dream of top tier (SUPL) football.
Buganda Region side Kiyinda boys promotion to FUFA big league guaranteed Light SA/ Entebbe Pride FC a place in the Regional league next season and will not need to engage in a play-off match that was earlier scheduled.
Kiyinda boys qualified to the FUFA Big league after they defeated Black stars Masanafu 2-1 at Ssingo Ssaza stadium in the return leg match, having drawn 2-2 at Wankulukuku in the Regional League play-offs.
Kiyinda a side that comes from the same zone (3) with Entebbe Pride, their qualification guaranteed an automatic qualification of the Zone 3 champions to the regional league.
Entebbe Pride defeated another Wakiso district side – Fields of dream 1-0 to win the Zone 3 title at Ssingo Ssaza Stadium, the same side they defeated to win the Wakiso District FA title at Kajjansi Clay’s play ground.
Ashraf Neymar scored the all important goal for the Entebbe based club to win the Zonal title, for the team that lost the Zonal mini- league final last year.
Team head coach Kabiito ‘ Coach Pro’ as his close pals love calling him, was delighted with the team’s promotion to the 3rd tier on the Ugandan Football pyramid, also expressed his desire to achieve more and more with the club.
Speaking to this site, the overjoyed CAF D coaching licence holder stated; ” Am first of very happy with guiding the team to the next level, we tried it last time and lost in the final, but remained focused, we have quality in the team, we managed to keep all our players which is hard to find at other clubs, and we added a few so this was very Important because these players know each other very well.”
” But Evey one is very happy we have achieved it this time, I want to thank the management of the team headed by the president Mr Walter, they have really done a good job in this campaign and this is where our strength lies mostly. Our plans a very clear we want to play in the Uganda premier league soon like in two (2) years time and most importantly we want to groom these players to produce professionals that can play at the top level in world top leagues.” He added.
He also spoke about the preparations as one of the key factors why the team performed well at Zonal Mini league.
” We are a very organized side, we have a camp where these boys stay, keep an eye on them. We brought in visiting coaches form top clubs in the country to add on what we sgare with these players and we want to thank them so much; Coach Masaba, coach Edward Ssali Bayerno and Onyango.”
” I am very happy because this is my second season and we have achieved this, in the first season I found the team in relagation zone and i managed to help the team Qualify for the zonals where we lost the final.” He told Sport256 in am exclusive interview.
Light SA (Entebbe Pride) defeated Mannyi FC 2-1 in highly contested semi-final and they had knocked out Mutetema 2-0 at the quarter final level.
Kabiito also was great to God, pointed at management of the club as key to the team’s success.
” We thank God first, he was at our side, and luck as well, but most importantly am so greatful to the club management, that have given their best to support the players; financially, mentally, spiritually and in any other way.” The soft spoken coach stressed.
Speaking about the huge Regional league task ahead of them, he said; ” Playing in the Regional league won’t be so different from what we have been doing because how we behave and our preparations matches such a level, but we shall just add on what we have and may be add a few more players to have effective competition.” He calmly told this site.
Coach Pro came to Wakiso district last year and was more known in other districts where he had operated before like Bushenyi, Fortportal but it has taken him little time to adopt to the Wakiso district football and has started writing his name on the walls.
Kabiito won the Wakiso District FA trophy when he defeated Fields of Dream in penalty kicks.
After this immediate success coach Pro pointed at making more miracles in the region “Am very happy as a person, for the achievement, have added to my experience and have learnt more this season from the Wakiso football and am looking forward to making more records in coaching not only at Pride.”
According to the club vision and mission, Entebbe Pride was established most importantly to narture talents, help them develop – produce talents that can compete at any level.
