
Know Your Stars: URA FC Teenager Kumakech Inspired By CR7 Dreams of playing in Europe
Teenager Kumakech dreaming of playing in Europe and representing Uganda at the world’s biggest stage.
Currently playing for Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club Junior team, exciting teenager Shalom Kumakech’s target is playing in Europe and most preferably in the UEFA champions league.

The young Midfielder, a form 6 student at London College Nansana, also has strong belief that he will represent his country at the world cup in the future.

Kumakech, represented his school at the just concluded Uganda Senior Secondary Schools (USSSA) National Post Primaries in Fortportal this year and they were knocked out at the round of 16 stage by St Henry’s College Kitovu.
Speaking to Sport256.com in an exclusive interview, the soft spoken young star said; “My dream is to play in the Champions league one day with one of the big clubs in Europe and all my effort is towards that. And I also believe I can take my nation to a better level which is the World Cup.”
Despite his small body, Kumakech is a talented central attacking midfielder who uses the ball well and can as well be employed on the flanks.
The teenager is inspired by former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo to play the game.
” Ronaldo inspires me because of his hardwork and mentality, then also Ronaldinho Gaucho, Andres Iniesta and Neymar Junior. Those are players I have looked at growing up and look on to push myself there.”
He also expressed his too much love for Neymar Junior whom, he referred to as his role model and the player he loves most.
A boy who has played on the Spanish soil before, believes with more hard work, he will shortly make a return to Europe for professional football.
Reflecting on his future in the game. ” I see myself playing for a team in Europe especially in Spain God willing because of my style of play.
Kumakech highlighted on playing at reaching in the semi-final at the the Donosti cup in Spain as so far the best moment of his football career.
A Loss to St Henry’s College Kitovu in the just concluded USSSA games at the round of 16 stage is so far the young Star’s worst moment.
He also hinted on parents and friends support as key to his career development.
” My parents are very supportive, they love the game, am proud of them, as well, am greatful to Mr Nixon Onyutta and Bulezi Simeon Kawuma that have supported me from the start of this journey and still pushing me. Coaches Ebuwe Allan and Nseye Hadad.” he added
The teenager has managed eight (8) goals for his school this season.
Kumakech is a product of some of the best academies in Kampala that include; Kololo S.A, Excel S.A and Proline S.A
