WDFA LEAGUE: Nkumba Kataka Coach Louis Kizito Reveals Season Target.

Louis Kizito target guiding Nkumba Kataka to Regional league in his first season as manager.

After an impressive start of the Wakiso District Football Association (WDFA) League season, Nkumba Kataka head coach Louis ‘Figo’ Kizito has come out and pointed at promotion to Uganda 3rd tier league as the team’s main target.

This was after his team got back to back wins away to Katale masters and at home against Navigators FC on Sunday.

The Nkumba-Entebbe based club, has managed 3 wins, a draw and a loss in the five outings so far accumulating ten (10) points.

” The team’s main target is to join the regional league, but the immediate goal is to try win as many games as possible to qualify for the zonal mini league which we are trying to do.”

” Coming from a goal down to defeat Navigators showed the winning character we have andΒ  the mentality. This win shows us that we start low and finish up well, so we have to work on that. Winning two games in a row, will give us the momentum and consistence and we need to mantain that and build on that.” He added.

” I think, why we are performing well is that, we have tried to make sure we train well, try to tackle the grey areas, where we need to improve especially in defence and we need to work more on the midfield where we have had some injuries, but we are hopeful and positive to improve. Our forward line as been our strength that’s why we have atleast scored in most games and created many chances as well.” Figo concluded.

Kizito joined Nkumba Kataka as head coach early this season after the team gained promotion from the 5th tier.

Hussein Kato scored the only goal that helped Kataka defeat Katale Masters (1-0), then veteran forward Kabuye Mukiri Muhammed and Hussein Kato found the two goals against Navigators on Sunday.

It should be recalled that Entebbe Pride that played at the zonal mini league needed a late goal to draw 2-2 at home against new boys in the 4th tier Kataka.

Kataka was sportingly promoted to the WDFA League, the 4th tier on Ugandan football pyramid last season.

Kizito is one of the coaches currently undetaking a CAF C Coaching course at Old Kampala.
