Masaza Graduate Kabonge Eager To Make a Mark at URA after Villa failed Attempt.

Midfielder Nicholas Kabonge will have a second attempt to write his name on the skies in the Ugandan top tier after failing at the first attempt.

One of greatest of all time Masaza Cup tournament graduates Kabonge, signed for the Jogoos in 2019, but didnot live to the expectations of many at Villa Park and has to prove his worth at his new club Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club.

The tax collectors signed a free agent Kabonge on a two year contract following expiry of his contract at SC Villa previously.

Kabonge on arrival, clearly stated that he has a point to prove and he is eager to help the struggling club to get where it belongs.

“I feel happy to join URA FC and I want my stay to count. I am aware the club didn’t perform well in the first round and this is where I want to help with the support of my teammates and with my ability I am optimistic we shall achieve this.” he told Urafc.co.ug.

Kabonge joined SC Villa in 2019, with all his abilities failed to make the mark at Villa Park and was often used as susbstitute player and at some occasions not named.

Kabonge is an intelligent Midfielder, composed, calm in possession, a brilliant ball passer with great vision and who loves shooting at goal.

Kabonge rose to prominence when he scored Gomba’s only goal in the final of the 2017 Masaza Cup against Ssingo at the Mandela National Stadium.

Kabonge becomes Revenues’ 3rd signing in the January transfer window after Defensive Midfielder Joshua Letti Lubwama and teenage striker Bruno Junior Bunyaga.

Kabonge went through Kampala Junior team (KJT), Lubiri SS, and has played for Lukuli Utd and Kampala Universty before joining Villa.
