The Gradual Ascension of Della Torre Soccer Academy

Less than two years in existence, Della Torre Soccer Academy that started with a single branch and fifteen (15) kids, today has two branches and over sixty kids.

Della Torre just like other academies, one of it’s main founding purposes is to teach the basics of the beautiful game of football.

According to academy Chief Executive Officer Siraje Kabuye, Della Torre is among the many academies registered under the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA), a subordinate body of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).

The two branches; in Luwero district and Kibiri, Della Torre Football Academy is a fast growing institution aiming at teaching football skills as ball control, passing, positioning, dribbling, heading and shooting, among others.

The academy started in June 2020 with 15 kids and now accommodates 60 plus kids. Started with one branch in Luwero and now the second branch is in Kibiri and many others branches are expected in different regions.

Though the academy has encountered some challenges for this period in operation, CEO Kabuye believes they are on truck to achieve their set goals and objectives.

Our start has been challenging, but we feel we are heading to the right direction, we started with the main branch in Luweero where we established our offices which is fully equipped and we are happy that we have grown and we expanding with other branches.

 

We have offered our kids exposure by participatng in different tournaments, and so far the academy has won 4 trophies; last one being Luwero (U-14) Sub Region Youth Football Championship 2021 title.

 

We are happy with our progress we managed to get a patron (Della Torre) from which we named the academy, that helped us with training equipment, sets of jerseys, balls, cons and in a short time we expect him to come around we purchase land where we are going to set up our academy premises (home). We are also thinking of registering Della Torre Football club. But our main target is making Della Torre the best academy in Uganda and East Africa

Previously, fast rising Luweero district based Della Torre Football Academy has been boosted by an assortment of equipment.

The equipment ranged from balls, jersey sets, T-Shirts to training cones.

Swiss citizen Della Torre, also the academy patron made this timely donation that had 24 balls, three different sets of jerseys, 83 training cones, 84 training bags and carrier bags on a function that was held at St Andrew play ground Kasaala in Luweero.

Kabuye on behalf of the academy earlier appreciated the support rendered to them and believes will highly help in developing the kids talents.

Della Torre aims to provide the highest levels of quality football training  for young players  enhancing their football skills along with their social,  emotional and physical health in a positive and  safe environment,  built from mutual respect,  character and hard work upon which every child can build success both on and off field.

One of the academy coaches Ivan Mawanda feels the academy is headed for greatness in reference to the strategic plan and the achievements so far.

We are happy with the progress so far with the support of our patron who sent us equipment that has helped us so much.

 

We are delighted as well that we have started achieving on the pitch by winning our regional title (U-14) last year. We managed to win another juniors championship at Kibiri modern so the titles we have won so far as Della Torre gives us hope to achieve our targets. Mawanda stated.

Kabuye further revelead their plan of building academy premises that will have all the facilities to aid kids talent development.
