Uganda Women U-20 Footbal team captain Fauzia Najjemba has come up to express their readiness for the FIFA World Cup qualifier clash against West Africans Ghana.

 

In a Pre-match press conference held today morning Friday at FUFA House in Mengo, Fauzia flanked by head coach Ayub Khalifah, pointed at crowd and attitude in camp as key factors that has kept their morale high to get positive results against African giants tomorrow.

 

“As the captain i think we have prepared well for the game tomorrow, the coaches have done thier best to put us in shape and now it us to deliver.”

 

“We know very well Ghana is not an easy team, it’s not going to be an easy game for us but i believe in my players, we are very well motivated we are hoping for the very best tomorrow.”

 

I want also to thank the FUFA President,( that we shall finally have the fans behind our back tomorrow after long and this motivates us so much as players and i welcome them to support us.” Fauzia added.” Fauzia added.

 

Her coach Ayub Khalifah was confident  about positive results and didnot show worries for the west africans.

 

” We have prepared well for the game, our target is maximum points tomorrow and we want to win with a good scoreline, as coaches, we have done our best to prepare the team well and we are ready.”

 

” I must say we respect Ghana just like we have respected other teams we have played before but we fear nobody, we have all it takes to get results from any team.” Khalifah stated.

 

” I havent given time to their strength and danger players, but my concern has been more on my team, their best player (s) hasnot been my concern but am sure they also fear and are planning for Fauzia.”

 

Striker Juliet Nalukenge will be a big miss tomorrow for the team.

 

” Am going to miss one of my key players, it’s a worry as a team buy we have tried working on it, Ugandans shouldnt worry so much,  at every level the higher you go many things change.”

 

This is the first leg of the fourth round of the World Cup Qualifiers and the aggregate winner will play the winner between Tanzania and Ethiopia.

 

The return leg fixture, will be hosted by Ghana in a weeks’ time from now.

 

Earlier, the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo granted an opportunity to one thousand lucky Ugandan football fans to watch the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier between Uganda and Ghana for Free.

 

The team will have the last training session today 3pm at St Mary’s Kitende and the Ghana team will have theirs at 5pm at the same stadium according to team media officer Alex Kasirye.

The lucky fans are acquiring the free tickets by loging on to https://ticket.fufa.co.ug.

 

The deadline for applying is set for today Friday 21st January 2022 at midnight and the system operates on a first come first serve according to Fufa.co.ug and the lucky 1,000 fans will be the only ones captured by the electronic system and once the number is realized, the system will close automatically.
