FWSL:UGANDA MARTYRS LUBAGA WFC PUT THREE PAST STRUGGLING ASUBO LADIES

The Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League Match-Day 19 started today with only two fixtures on board.

In Lubaga, the kiddawalime girls had a convincing 3-0 win over relegated Asubo Ladies FC.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC started as a better side in the play, but Asubo Ladies kept numbers in their half.

Shalon Nalubowa had a first chance to deliver a cross, but Asubo defence cleared away.

Brenda Munyana and Gloria Namugerwa also had attempts on Asubo’s goal, but all in vain.

Before the break, Sharon Kanyiginya had a rebound but went inches out, taking the game goalless.

In the second half, Auki Angel Kigongo tried her luck but missed a clear header on goal.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC broke the deadlock through Sharon Kanyiginya, who scored a direct freekick into the net.

The game paused for a few minutes as Asubo Ladies’ goalkeeper was injured in trying to deny Kanyiginya’s freekick.

Forward Shalon Nalubowa doubled the lead with a long-range strike.

Relegated Asubo seemed tired and helpless as Auki Angel Kigongo stretched Lubaga’s lead from a freekick into the top right corner.

Goal scorer Sharon Kanyiginya was named Woman of the Match after an impressive performance.

In the other game, She Corporate FC secured a 1-0 narrow win over Olila HS WFC in Soroti.
