UFL:BUGEMA UNIVERSITY SNATCH LATE EQUALISER TO DRAW WITH KAMPALA UNIVERSITY

Kampala University (KU) and Bugema University played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their University Football League quarterfinal tie.

KU took the lead in the 20th minute through Nsubuga Gideon’s penalty, awarded after Bugema’s Bebe Casemiro fouled Kiweewa Raymond in the box.

Bugema pushed for an equalizer, but KU goalkeeper David Wafula made crucial saves, including a save on Jombwe’s attempt, to keep the score intact at halftime.

In the second half, KU’s Owao Simon Peter was sent off with a red card after a dangerous foul on Bugema’s Mwandha Jonah.

Bugema kept pressing, and their efforts paid off in the 75th minute when Mwandha Jonah scored the equalizer.

Mwandha tapped in a well delivered cross from Derrick Musinguzi.

Despite Bugema’s pressure and chances, including a missed opportunity by Mwandha Joseph, the game ended 1-1.

The return leg is set for Monday,30th March, 2026, in Kampala.
