INTERNATIONAL FAIR: LONDON NORMANDS FC FACE UNIK IN A FRIENDSHIP CONNECTION MATCH

The University of Kisubi yesterday hosted London Normands FC from the United Kingdom in a vibrant international friendship game on their lawn grounds.

The Church Boys welcomed their visitors with warmth and excitement, setting the stage for a thrilling clash built on camaraderie and shared passion for football.

From kickoff, both teams displayed flair and confidence under the bright afternoon sun. UNIK struck first through midfielder Owen, sending the home crowd into cheers as the visitors regrouped to chase the game. The Normands created a series of chances but found UNIK’s defence well-organised and resolute.

Moments later, youngster Peter doubled UNIK’s advantage with a thunderbolt strike, giving the hosts a 2–0 lead at halftime.

The visitors came into the second half determined, pushing forward with intensity in search of a quick comeback. Their efforts paid off in the 55th minute, when they pulled one back with a consolation goal.

UNIK, however, responded in style. Emma Mulondo extended the lead with a spectacular direct corner kick, before defender Jonathan sealed the win with a towering header from another corner.
The match ended 4–1 in favour of UNIK.

As the final whistle echoed, the spirit of friendship took centre stage. Players from both teams shared laughs, embraced, and exchanged stories—proof that football’s magic lies beyond the scoreboard.

London Normands captain Sconey praised UNIK’s passion and discipline, promising a return match in the UK. Celebrations later continued at White Sand Beach – Entebbe, where music, food, dance, and new memories highlighted the international bond created.

UNIK Coach Jessy Lukoki thanked the visitors for honouring the invitation, while the Normands reaffirmed their commitment to hosting the next encounter.

It was more than a match—it was a celebration of unity, culture, and friendship.
