Journey-Man Ssekisambu Makes his Target Clear On Rejoining KCCA From Malta.

 

Experienced forward Erisa Ssekisambu has made a shock return to KCCA FC for his second stint from Malta just after a year.

 

At his unveiling, the journey man who has featured for all top clubs in the country and outside the country, has made it clear that his target is to win the League title for KCCA FC this season.

 

I feel happy and it is an opportunity for me to win something for the club and to lift myself as an individual. I come back at a time when KCCA FC is top of the table and I want to help the club maintain its position until the end of the season. I have already had a talk with the Manager and I know what he demands and I hope I do exactly that. I want to win with KCCA FC

 

The 28 year old who plays as a winger and as a center forward, is one of the few players if not, the only one that has played for Uganda’s top six teams in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

 

Sekisambu returns to KCCA FC with his experience to help them win the 2021/22 season title having previously featured for KCCA FC in the 2019/20 season.

 

The former Gor Mahia player has signed  for 6 months till the end of the 2021/22 season according to Kccafc.co.ug

 

Ssekisambu had moved to Tarxien Rainbows (Malta) in January 2021 where he played football for a period of one year.

 

The player joins KCCA FC as a free agent and will have to compete with forwards like Rogers Mato, Davis Kasirye, Sadat Anaku, Charles Lwanga and Brian Aheebwa.

 

The former Express, URA and Vipers forward comes in at a time when KCCA FC has already lost two forwards in Sam Ssenyonjo who was sent on loan to Wakiso Giants FC and Brian Kayanja who under-went a knee surgery and is out for the rest of the 2021/22 season.

 

Ssekisambu has also previously played for Gor Mahia, SC Villa and a graduate of Jogoo Young.

 

He played for SC Villa in 2011-2012, Express 2012-13, URA FC 2013-14, returned to SC Villa 2014-15, Vipers 2015-18, Gor Mahia 2018-19, KCCA FC 2019-2020.

 

The experienced journey man won the league title in 2011-12 season with Express, Uganda Cup in 2013/14 with URA FC, won Uganda Cup with SC Villa, Uganda cup (2015/16) and the league title with Vipers in 217/18.

 

He won the CECAFA Cup in 2015 with the Cranes and was Most Valuable Player in the Uganda Cup in 2015, 2016.

 

He was Most Valuable Player Nominee in the Uganda Premier League in 2015.

 

The 5.8ft forward has also previously played for Uganda U20, U23 and Senior National Men’s Teams.

 

Ssekisambu made his senior National team debut on 20 June 2015,Uganda against Tanzania and scored 2 goals on his debut.

 

He was one of the shining stars at the 2016 CHAN Finals in Rwanda as he netted in the 2–2 draw with Mali.

 

In the 2014 African Nations Championship, Erisa was top scorer for Uganda.
