Tanzania U-19 Team Touches Down at Entebbe Ahead of Tri-Series with Uganda

The Tanzania U-19 cricket team arrived in Entebbe this evening ahead of the much-anticipated Tri-Series, where they will face off against the Baby Cricket Cranes and Uganda A. The series, set to run from March 2nd to March 8th at Lugogo Cricket Oval, forms a crucial part of Uganda U-19’s final preparations for the upcoming ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifiers in Nigeria this April.

In addition to the Tri-Series, a bilateral one-day series has also been announced between Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) and Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) as part of the Easter Series. These matches will not only test the mettle of the young cricketers but also offer valuable match practice for both teams ahead of their respective continental assignments.

Building Momentum for the Africa Qualifiers

For Uganda’s U-19 squad, this Tri-Series is more than just a preparatory event—it’s a chance to fine-tune strategies, experiment with team combinations, and build winning momentum before heading to Nigeria. The team, coached by Emmanuel Isaneez, has been training rigorously, focusing on both technical skills and mental resilience.

This series is an important step in our journey to the Africa Qualifiers. The players know what’s at stake and are ready to give their all,” said Coach Isaneez.

A Test of Skill and Character

Tanzania U-19 brings a competitive edge to the series, known for their disciplined bowling attack and aggressive batting lineup. Meanwhile, Uganda A will feature a mix of emerging talents and seasoned players, providing a stern test for the Baby Cricket Cranes.

The Tri-Series not only offers Uganda’s youngsters a chance to gain invaluable match experience but also gives selectors a final look at the squad’s form and fitness levels before the Africa Qualifiers.
