Mukwala Seals Simba SC’s 3-0 Victory Over Namungo FC

Simba SC broke their two-year winless streak at Majaliwa Stadium with a commanding 3-0 victory over Namungo FC in the NBC Premier League. The win propelled Simba to 50 points, keeping them second in the standings with a game in hand.

The match took a decisive turn in the 35th minute when Namungo’s center-back Derick Mukombozi was shown a straight red card for unsportsmanlike conduct, leaving the home side with ten men.

Simba SC capitalized on their numerical advantage in the 49th minute when Jean Charles Ahoua converted a penalty after Shomari Kapombe was fouled inside the box. Two minutes later, Namungo had a chance to equalize from the spot, but Leonel Ateba’s penalty was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Jonathan Nahimana.

Ahoua doubled Simba’s lead in the 72nd minute with another penalty after Kapombe was brought down by Anthony Mlingo.

Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala made his mark after coming on as a substitute in the 75th minute. He sealed the victory in stoppage time (92nd minute) with a composed finish. Mukwala capitalized on a deflected shot from Valentine Nouma, pouncing on the loose ball to score Simba’s third goal and cap off a dominant performance.
