AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Micho Drops Four As Uganda Travel To Tunisia Ahead Of Algeria Duel.
Uganda Cranes Head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has dropped four players while naming his final travelling squad to Tunisia ahead of the AFCON Qualifier clash with Algeria on Saturday 4th June 2022.
Young star Najib Yiga, Wakiso Giants’ Moses Aliro, Goalkeeper Dennis Otim and Rogers Mato are the players that have been left in camp at Kisasi to continue with training ahead of the match against Niger on 8th June 2022 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The team that has travelled to Tunisia will have a four day camp before finally landing in Oran for the first group game against Algeria.
The 16 players named from the camp in Kampala has two Goalkeepers Lukwago Charles and Nafian Alionzi, Kizito Mugweri Gavin, Lwaliwa Halid, Muleme Isaac, Walusimbi Enoch, Musa Ramathan, Byaruhanga Bobosi, Karisa Milton, Kizza Martin, Miya Faruku, Okwi Emmanuel, Begisa James Penz, Marvin Youngman Joseph Fahad Bayo, Hakim Kiwanuka and Jagason Muhammad Shaban.
Eight foreign based players that include; Bevis Mugabi, Allan Okello, Allan Kyambadde, Elvis Bwomono, Aucho Khalid, Abdu Aziz Kayondo, Derrick Kakooza and Steven Serwadda will join the squad in Tunisia.
England based trio of Ibra Sekajja who has been part of training, Odokonyero Nathan and Tirhys Luknyomoi are not part of the team that will face Algeria.
KCCCA FC forward Sadat Anaku, Midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba, defender Timothy Awany and Livingston Mulondo are other players that are out of Micho’s squad to face Algeria.
