UFL:KAMPALA UNIVERSITY, YMCA SHARE SPOILS IN THE SEMI-FINAL 1ST LEG
Kampala University (KU) and YMCA played out a goalless draw in the University Football League semi-final first leg at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.
KU had the better of the first half, with Ebong Mark having the first attempt on goal, but his shot went wide.

Nsubuga Gideon’s cross was cleared away by YMCA defender Asiku Jude.
YMCA’s Mutebi Jordan had a good chance to cross, but it went far wider.
KU’s Ebong Mark had another chance just before halftime, but YMCA goalkeeper Ssenabulya Kevin made a crucial save.

In the second half, KU’s attacking threat was blunted by YMCA’s solid defence.
Epaja James had a good cutback, but the forwards were shy to score.
Kiseeka John and Wasswa Farouk had chances for YMCA, but they were unable to beat KU goalkeeper David Wafula.
The game was paused for more than 10 minutes after KU striker Wannume Gilbert and YMCA defender Asiku Jude collided in the box and were rushed to hospital.

YMCA’s defensive strategy paid off, and they secured a 0-0 draw away from home.
“We respected our opponents, thats why we didn’t play an open, but we shall wait for them at home and welcome them comfortably,” YMCA Head Coach Ajuku Fransico

The return leg will be played at Buwambo on Tuesday 14th April next week.
