USSSA2026:UGANDA MARTYRS HS LUBAGA CROWNED CHAMPIONS, COACH SSAKA CLAIMS FIRST TITLE

Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga celebrated a perfect start of the season, clinching the Lubaga Division championship unbeaten under new Head Coach Ssaka John Oscar.

The team won the title after beating Mengo SS Annex 4-3 on penalties in the final after a goalless draw.

This victory marks Coach Ssaka’s first trophy since taking the helm and adds to Lubaga’s bronze medal finish at the USSSA Elite games earlier this year.

The team dominated the group stages, winning all three games, including a 3-0 thrashing of Lubaga SS Annex , 2-1 against Mengo SS Annex, and a 7-0 demolition of Bethel High School.

Lubaga will be joined by Mengo SS and Lubiri SS to represent Lubaga Division at the Kampala region qualifiers starting April 9th, 2026.

With all aiming to secure a spot at the USSSA national championship in Lira later this year.

Coach Ssaka was previously at Caltec Academy Makerere and here he comes to replace Coach Edward Kasozi who now coaches Green Light SS Nansana.
