UFL:ST LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY TAKES A NARROW WIN INTO NDEJJE RETURN LEG

St Lawrence University (SLAU) defeated Ndejje University in the University Football League quarterfinal first leg, courtesy of a 2-1 win at home.

Team Captain Ziraba Ronnie’s strike and Mukiibi Sharafah’s header secured the win for SLAU.

The hosts had early chances, including a Ssemanda Collins freekick that was deflected and saved by Ndejje goalkeeper Ocen Faizal.

Ziraba Ronnie broke the deadlock, converting Mukiibi Sharafah assist.

However, within minutes, striker Musinguzi Davis equalized for Ndejje, thanks to Olupot Joel’s work.

The teams went into halftime tied.

Turning into the second half, Ziraba Ronnie headed inches away Alile Ambrose’s freekick.

Olupot Joel attempted to trick SLAU defence, but his shots were blocked by Agaku Vicent.

Musinguzi Davis missed a golden opportunity to score his second, but his shot went wide.

SLAU took the lead again in the 62nd minute, after Mukiibi Sharafah headed into the net, Okello Ivan’s cross.

Mukiibi again got another chance to stretch the lead, but his efforts hit the woodwork.

SLAU dominated possession in the final minutes, seeing Ndejje goalkeeper pulling a lot of saves.

The game ended 2-1, and there is much to play for in the return leg on Wednesday, 1st April, 2026, in Ndejje.
