UFL:ST LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY BOOKS QUARTERFINALS SLOT AFTER A NARROW WIN IN GULU

St Lawrence University (SLAU) is making waves in the University Football League.

They have become the first team to advance to the quarterfinals this season.

After a narrow 1-0 win against Gulu University.

For starters, SLAU has won all their three league games in Group D.

They defeated MUBS 3-1 and went on to win 3-0 against Lira University in Kavule.

And lastly, today’s 1-0 away win against Gulu University.

The match against Gulu University was intense.

SLAU’s Mulema had an early chance, but it was wasted.

Gulu University created a scoring attempt, but SLAU’s goalkeeper Kateete Mohammed saved away.

Charles Epilo had two clear chances to break the deadlock for Gulu, but his efforts went wide.

In the 83rd minute, Skilful Wonder boy Mukiibi Sharafah broke the deadlock for St Lawrence University with a powerful strike to send his team to the last eight.

SLAU’s Okello Ivan had chances, including a misfired shot that went inches over the bar.

Gulu University’s Ssenoga also had a great clear chance on goal, but SLAU goalkeeper Mohammed Kateete saved away to end the game 1-0 in favour of the visitors.

Meanwhile, in the same group, Lira University at home secured a first win over MUBS in a 2-1 victory.

Kateete Brian scored for MUBS while Kihumuro Hazaifh and Okeng Emmanuel scored for Lira University.
