UFL:KUMI UNIVERSITY HANDS IUIU A PAINFUL DEFEAT AT THEIR OWN BACKYARD

IUIU suffered a 2-4 defeat to Kumi University at their home turf in the University Football League.

The hosts took an early lead through Waibi Reagan’s own goal in the 1st minute, courtesy of Faizail Mumali’s cross.

Kumi University dominated the first half, with Nyongesa having many scoring attempts.

But IUIU’s defence held firm until halftime.

The visitors equalized through Nyongesa’s fine strike early in the second half.

Walwasa Nathan’s penalty gave Kumi University the lead after Nyongesa was brought down in the box by Emmanuel Shinkaga.

IUIU fought back, with Rogers Kiggundu scoring in the 58th minute to make it 2-2.

However, Kumi University sealed the win with two late goals from Walwasa and Simon Olupot.

Kumi University is now 3rd in Group E with 8 points, while IUIU is 5th with 4 points.
