UFL:MAKERERE UNIVERSITY WITH AN EPIC COMEBACK

Makerere University secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Uganda Christian University.

The game played on a slippery surface, started at a slow pace, with both teams struggling to create clear scoring opportunities.

Muteranga Frank’s 15th-minute header went inches wide for Makerere University.

On the other side, Uganda Christian University also got a clear chance through team captain Ofoyrwoth Isaac who shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Coming into the second half, Uganda Christian University took the lead with Abiti Harry scoring a tap-in from a rebound.

Moreso deep in the second stanza , Male Musa missed a penalty for Makerere as it was saved by UCU goalkeeper Mwidu Elton.

However, Makerere University responded quickly with the same Male Musa equalizing in the 58th minute after a great assist from Ekwong Emmanuel.

The hosts continued to push for a winner and their efforts paid off in the dying minutes of the game.

Makerere team captain Ekwong Emmanuel’s cross found Male Musa, who slotted the ball home to secure the comeback win.

The victory was a sweet one for inguinal league winners Makerere University, who moved to nine points at the top of Group E.

But for the 2019 champions Uganda Christian University, a loss saw their qualification hopes dashed.

Ekwong Emmanuel and Male Musa were the standout performers for Makerere University leading their team to a memorable win.
