Disan Galiwango Delighted with Uganda Premier League Return
Ugandan International Disan Galiwango expressed his delight signing for URA FC from Tanzanian Premier League side Dodoma Jiji.
The experienced left footed defender expressed his readiness to get started after signing a two-year contract, becoming the club’s second mid-season acquisition after midfielder Moses Waiswa.
“I’m extremely happy to join URA FC. This is a club with clear ambitions and a strong identity. I’ve come here ready to work hard, help the team improve, and give my very best for the badge. I believe my experience can help us achieve our targets this season and beyond.”
URA FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu was happy with the addition and hinter at the player’s impact he is expected to arrive with.

A former “Venom”, the Ugandan international joins the Tax Collectors as the club strengthens its squad for the second half of the campaign.
The left back arrives to the Tax collector s family with a winning pedigree, having enjoyed a highly successful three-year spell at Vipers SC between 2020 and 2023, where he lifted two Uganda Premier League titles and two Uganda Cups.
His addition brings does not only add quality on the left flank for Hussein Mbalangu’s team but also leadership and a championship mentality to the URA FC dressing room.
Galiwango’s football journey began at Rifo Soccer Academy before he earned a move to Simba SC at the start of the 2015/16 season. Following Simba’s relegation, he joined The Saints FC, where he spent the entire 2016/17 campaign.
In January 2018, he moved to Water FC for a short stint before sealing a transfer to Express FC in August 2018. His impressive performances at Express over two seasons earned him a switch to Vipers SC, where he firmly established himself as one of the league’s most reliable left backs.
After leaving Vipers, Galiwango ventured abroad, joining Kagera Sugar in Tanzania in July 2023 before signing for Dodoma Jiji in August 2024 in the same league.
He mutually agreed to terminate his contract six months before its expiry, paving the way for his return to Uganda with URA FC.
Galiwango a natural left back, shortly after young star Amis Bwangani, Shafiq Lugoloobi, and Faisal Matovu have all loaned out earlier this season. His versatility also allows him to operate further up the flank when required.
