Lugazi FC Sign Former St Mary’s Kitende Striker.

Lugazi Football Club have completed the signing of St Mary’s Secondary School product Umar Kyebatala from Mbale Heroes FC.

The young striker signed for Vipers from the youth system (SMASK) in 2019 and later joined Maroons FC.

Kyebatala has signed a two-year contract with the Leaders. And he is expected to join his new teammates immediately, and becomes the second arrival of the secondary transfer window.

According to the club website, for the past one year and a half, Kyebatala has been on the books of Mbale Heroes whom he joined in July 2024, following two seasons at Maroons FC.

He made his Uganda premier league debut while at Vipers SC back in 2019 after impressing for their feeder school – St. Mary’s Kitende in the Copa Coca-Cola and FEASSA games. He also featured for Kibuli SS in the schools’ competitions before joining the Kitende based side.

Kyebatala joins Midfielder Hamza Mulambuzi as second signing who signed from Mbarara City FC on a two-year contract.
