Vipers, UPPC Travel To The North to face Minnows in Uganda Cup.
StarTimes Uganda premier league Clubs based on Entebbe road, Vipers SC and Entebbe UPPC will face Northern region sides Northern Gateway SC and Ombachi according to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 draw held on Wednesday, 28th January 2026 at Protea Hotel Kampala.
StarTimes Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League clubs in one pot A had no chance to face each other at this level and will all travel to face lower league clubs and non league teams setting the stage for competitive fixtures scheduled to be played between 4th and 10th February 2026.
Forth tier club and also another Entebbe road based side Garuga Stars, will welcome FBL Club Kataka FC from Mbale in an anticipated exciting tie.
Record winners (10 titles each), Express FC and KCCA FC will face underdogs Pakwach Young stars and St George Masindi respectively in their quest for the 11th title.
Nine-time champions SC Villa have been drawn against a no league side Palisa Hospital FC and one-time champions Kitara will face little-known side Obule Earthquake FC.
Other SUPL big boys BUL face will face Agape, NEC will visit Mabira Touen Council, Mbalangu’s struggling URA will play Patongo United.
The FUFA 3rd Vice President, Hon. Nakiwala Florence Kiyingi, was greatful to the sponsors and applauded holders Vipers for setting the bar high for the competition speaking at the occasion.

The Uganda Cup remains the most inclusive competition for men. We thank the defending cup winners Vipers SC for setting the bar high. Any team that intends to take the trophy must match their performance. A total of UGX 180 million is available in rewards, with the winners taking UGX 50 million, and each participating team will walk away with something,’ she added.
The round of 64 draw was conducted by Umar Ssenoga, a former Uganda Cup winner with Express FC in 1991 and 1992, and later with KCCA FC in 1993, adding historical significance to the occasion.
The steady rise in participation numbers shows the tournament’s growth, with 308 teams featuring in the 49th edition, 312 teams in the 50th edition, 316 teams in the 51st edition and a record 333 teams in the ongoing 52nd edition.
According to the federation website, fufa.co.ug, details regarding match venues and kick-off times will be communicated.
Vipers won their 4th title last season when they beat KCCA FC 2-0 in the final held on May 31, 2025, at the FUFA Stadium, Kadiba. The Venoms reclaimed the title they had won in the 2022/23 season from Kitara FC that had won the 50th edition (2023/2024).
