John Kokas Points at Lifting the Trophy after Winning it For UPPC Against Kitara.
In a post match interview with Sports256 media, Entebbe UPPC FC Midfielder Alou John Kokas was greatful to God, coaching staff and fellow players for the spirit exhibited in the game against Kitara FC and, he didn’t shy away from the fact that they are eyeing the title.
” First, am greatful to God for the blessing, for the good game to score for the team to get three points, the teammates and coaching staff for the confidence to work harder, it’s work well done, going forward, i want to work harder to help my team because I believe we can win the title. Alou, scored the all-important goal for debutants Entebbe UPPC FC in a 1-0 win over Kitara FC in the StarTimes Uganda premier league played on Thursday evening in Bugonga Entebbe.
Kokas sent the big crowd wild with a super strike in the 33rd minute, when he was set up by left back Issa Mubiru.
However, in an end to end game, UPPC dominating the first half and Kitara having the lion’s share of chances created in the second half, substitute Wasswa Emma off the bench, missed from the penalty spot after his effort went over after Odongo’s fault in the box.
The hosts looked a better side in the first stanza, creating several chances, center forward Ambrose Kigozi missed on two occasions and winger Kyeyune on the other notable chances.
The visitors also got some rare chances, Mweru l, Amutuhairwe and veteran forward Kaddu all failing to burru their chances
The three points elevated the Printers to 5th position with 20 points behind leaders KCCA FC, Vipers, Villa and Police in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places with 26, 24, 23 and 21 points respectively.
Workholic left back Mubiru was named Man of the match after an impressive performance on the evening defensively and going forward.
Mubiru who assisted Alou for the game winner, was happy for the win and his individual performance.
” It wasn’t an easy game today but we prepared so well for this game and I want to thank God for today, then our coach Mubiru for all what he prepared us to do this week is what we have executed today the strategy was clear for this game, I believe my good performance so far this season is about giving my best, commitment and team work and the love is too much in this team. Our target is to finish in top four but if our effort is rewarded with trophy it will also be good.” Mubiru told Sports256 media.
