FTBFWSL: Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC Battle to a Hard-Fought Draw Against Amus College WFC
LUBAGA — Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC earned a valuable point after a spirited 2–2 draw with Amus College WFC in a thrilling FUFA Women’s Super League (FWSL) encounter.
It was the home side that struck first through Nusulah Nakintu, who capitalised on a defensive mix-up between the Amus goalkeeper and her backline to slot home easily in the 4th minute.
However, Amus College responded strongly, and forward Edina Wanda restored parity before halftime with a well-taken finish.
The visitors came back from the break with more urgency, piling pressure on the Lubaga-based side. Their persistence paid off when Wanda scored her second of the day from the penalty spot after a handball in the area, giving Amus a 2–1 lead.
Uganda Martyrs refused to back down. Coach Edward Kasozi’s side pushed forward and were rewarded when Brenda Munyana unleashed a thunderous strike to level the score at 2–2.
Despite several late free-kick opportunities, Uganda Martyrs couldn’t find the winner, and the game ended all square after an entertaining display from both sides.
