FTBFWSL: Naigaga Strikes Late as Kampala Queens Complete Comeback Against Makerere University WFC
Kamiyat Naigaga was the heroine for Kampala Queens, scoring a dramatic late winner as the defending champions came from behind to edge Makerere University Women Football Club in a thrilling 2–1 encounter at Lugogo.
The visitors made a dream start, taking the lead in the 3rd minute through Josephine Ndagire, whose composed finish silenced the home crowd and gave Makerere an early advantage that they carried into halftime.
After the break, Kampala Queens responded swiftly as experienced forward Joanita Ainembabazi levelled matters just two minutes into the second half, restoring belief among the Queens’ faithful.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the hosts were repeatedly denied by a resilient Makerere defence. However, deep into stoppage time, Kamiyat Naigaga produced a moment of brilliance—slotting home a sensational strike in the 90th minute plus to seal the comeback and send the Lugogo fans into wild celebrations.
The result not only secured Kampala Queens’ first win of the season but also reminded everyone why they remain the team to beat in the FUFA Women Super League (FTBFWSL).

At Soroti, Kawempe Muslim Ladies recorded a remarkable 3–1 away win over Olila High School WFC.
Brenda Atwani had put Olila ahead in the 48th minute, but Coach Ayub Khalifa’s side responded emphatically, scoring three goals in ten minutes to turn the game on its head.
New signing Latifah Nakasi opened her account for Kawempe, while Agnes Nabukenya and Nabirye added their names to the scoresheet as the “Valley Warriors” claimed their first victory of the campaign.
Meanwhile, at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Rines SS WFC and Asubo Ladies WFC battled to a goalless draw, sharing the spoils in a tightly contested affair.
