NBL: City Oilers, Sommet Set for Decisive Game Five

The National Basketball League semifinals will go down to the wire as City Oilers and Sommet Basketball Club clash in a decisive Game Five this Friday at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.

The best-of-five series is tied 2-2 after Sommet, in their maiden top-flight season, stunned the 10-time defending champions with an 86-83 victory in Game Four on Wednesday. The winner will face the Namuwongo Blazers in the finals.

Sommet, who shocked the Oilers in Game One before dropping the next two, displayed resilience to level the series. Forward Nyembo Fataki led the charge with a superb 23-point, 17-rebound double-double, while the newcomers also dominated the boards 61-47.

The Oilers, meanwhile, will be counting on their experienced core after new signings Chad Bowie and Kurt-Curry Wegscheider struggled to find rhythm in Game Four. Veteran Ben Komakech, along with Titus Lual and Fayed Bbaale, will be key to maintaining the club’s long-standing supremacy.

With everything at stake, Friday’s clash promises a fierce battle between a dynasty defending its crown and a fearless newcomer chasing history.
