USSSA GAMES 2025: Emmanuel Otim lone-strike sends hosts Ngora to knock out stage

Energetic forward Emmanuel Otim scored the only goal for hosts Ngora High to defeat Mehta SS 1-0 in the group B decider played at Ngora Boys play ground to guarantee the school’s participation at the knock out stage.

Otim headed in early in the second half and they held on to the three points to qualify to the round of 32 stage with six points from the three group games.

Mehta SS needed a point to make it out of the group but were denied by Otim’s header in the second half.

Otim speaking to Sports256, he expressed his joy guiding the school to the round of 32.

I want to congratulate my teammates for the win, the game was intense we badly needed the win to qualify to the next stage, we have given our best and we are ready for the knock out stage. We want to appreciate the fans they have really given their best to achieve this, our target is to as far as we can. Otim stated

Ngora defeated Agape SS 1-0 in their opening match, lost to Kyaddondo 1-0 yesterday and beat Mehta 1-0 to make it out of the group with six points.

Kyaddondo qualified as log leaders with maximum nine points after defeating Agape 1-0 in today’s morning game.

Kyaddondo defeated boss Ngora 1-0 yesterday and they beat Mehta 2-0 in their group opener.

Round of 32 fixtures will be played tomorrow Saturday at 9am and the classification games for the knocked out teams will also be played tomorrow at 11am.
