Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has announced a 26-man squad that will face Mozambique and Guinea in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
The provisional squad, comprised of 3 goal keepers, 8 defenders, 7 Midfielders and 8 forwards, was released at a press conference on Monday 10th March 2025 at FUFA Complex in Mengo.
On form NEC Midfielder Ssebagala Enock, Vipers SC trio Watambala Abdu Karim, Allan Okello, Torach Rogers, KCCA FC defender Gavin Kizito, BUL goalie Mutakubwa and Kitara forward Jude Semugabi are the seven local based players that have made cut.
Uganda will play the first game on 20th March away to Mozambique in Cairo Egypt and will play the home game against Guinea on 25th at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Uganda is currently 5th placed with the same number of points (6) as 4th and 3rd placed Guinea and Botswana. Algeria tops the log with 9 points toes with second placed Mozambique.
