BASKETBALL:Guddi “Kikiri” Nasser Joins JKL Dolphins After Nine-Month Hiatus

Former Namuwongo Blazers small forward Guddi “Kikiri” Nasser has found a new home at JKL Dolphins, ending a challenging nine-month period without a club. The move was confirmed by Nasser’s management, marking a fresh start for the talented player who has endured a turbulent year.

Nasser’s basketball journey hit a major setback last year when he survived a severe car accident that landed him in the ICU. Reflecting on the incident, Nasser revealed the emotional toll it took on his career.

“It was bad — I had just joined Namuwongo Blazers and was performing at my best when the accident happened. I thought it was the end of my career,” Nasser shared.

The accident not only affected his physical health but also cost him his spot at the Blazers, as he underwent a lengthy recovery process. However, his resolve to return to the game never wavered, thanks to the unwavering support of his close circle.

“My brother kept pushing me, along with Adam, Raul, Emma, and my girlfriend Desire. I also want to thank my friends from the Chased Gang and Michael Oryem, who stood by me as a true friend,” Nasser added.

A Journey of Determination and Resilience

Nasser’s basketball career began at Nabumali High School before moving to Crane High and later Kampala University. His professional journey took off when he played for Betway Power, eventually signing with Namuwongo Blazers in 2023. Known for his agility, strong defense, and sharp shooting, Nasser was considered a key asset for the Blazers before his unexpected hiatus.

Now, at JKL Dolphins, Nasser is determined to reclaim his form and make a mark in the upcoming season. His signing is expected to bolster the Dolphins’ squad, adding experience and tenacity to their roster.
