UPPC-Gadaffi bloster squad with Experienced Defender
FUFA big league entity Uganda Printing and Publishing Company/ Gaddafi Football club have strengthened their defense with the signing of the 27 year old defender Goerge Kiryowa from StarTimes Uganda Premier League Club URA.
Defense Kingpin as his close pals prefer calling him, brings promotional experience having guided Police FC back to top flight football at the climax of 2023/24 season as FBL Champions and as well SUPL experience having played for Police for 5 seasons in the top tier.
The 27 year old joins the Entebbe based club from URA FC where he signed from Police at the begining of the 2014/25 season.
Kiryowa will have to negotiate his way into UPPC XI with other center backs available that include; Savio Kabugo, Enzama, Musota, Duncan Ssemakula, Derrick Kiggundu and others.
For starters, the lanky Center back earlier played for regional league entity Luweero United before joining Police in 2018.
Kirwoya joins winger Opiyo Nelson as UPPC FC other January signing who was earlier captured from Pader based Pajule Lions FC.
Allan Kabonge coached side UPPC/Gadaffi on the edge of returning to the SUPL are currently on the FBL summit with 30 points from the 14 games played so far one more than second placed Blacks Power and give more than third placed Calvary the three occupying the promotion places.
Buhimba are 4th, Onduparaka 5th and PBA FC sixth with 23, 22 and 20 points respectively still hopeful and in the fight for promotion.
MYDA, Arua Hill, Kigezi Home boys and Ntugasaze are in the danger zone(relagarion zone) with 6points, 13, 14 and 15 respectively.
Gadaffi’a next game will be against Kaaro Karungi a side their shared spoils with in the first round fixture at Entebbe Works pitch on Sunday 2nd February 2025.
