UPPC/ Gadaffi Football club captains; Tom Kakaire and Kawawa Junior Samuel, were both on target as the printers defeated Busoga United FC 3-0 in the FUFA big league match played on Tuesday at Entebbe Works play ground.
Kawawa, Kakaire and Congolese import Jonathan Mbula, scored for the Entebbe based club on the evening in an exciting encounter that was hugely attended.
Midfielder Kawawa, magically scored the opener with his individual brilliance in the first half, then the two goals came in the second half; captain Kakaire doubled the lead after he was set up by right back Duncan Ssemakula who came on as a substitute, and Jonathan Mbula scored the penalty in the dying minutes of the game after he was brought down in the 89th minute.
The former Kaaro Karungi FC star Kawawa, opened the scoring in the 34th minute, magically beating two defenders and goalkeeper Didi Muhammed to find the back of the net.
With just ten minutes of normal time to play, captain Kakaire, was well set up by substitute and right full back Ssemakula to double the lead from close range.
Center forward Jonathan Mbula who, came on for Ex-international Frank Kalanda at half time, put the icing on the cake with a well struck penalty in the 89th minute.
Speaking to Sports256 media, captain Kakaire and his assistant Kawawa were both happy with the win and as well scoring their first goal for the club.
” We are very happy as team for the win, you can see everyone of my team mates are happy so even input next game against Arua Hill, we want to get a win..but am so happy that this goal I have scored today and three points, means alot to me and to the team because we go back to the top and am so happy. To the huge fans turn up, I would love to thank you so much for the turn up and Kindly request you to keep the same spirit at home and wherever we shall go for the away games.” Captain Kakaire told Sports256.
Assistant captain Kawawa, who also scored his first goal for the club, was happy for his goal and the crucial win against Charles Ayiekho’s Busoga United FC.
” Greatful to God that I have scored my first goal that has helped the team win the game 3-0, we are going to build on that to get results in our next away game, this was a crucial win to get us back to the top of the table, andam sure the next opponents will be scared to face table leaders.” Kawawa stated.
In his conclusive remarks, Kawawa, urged the fans to continue supporting them to achieve the dream and as well hinted on his dream.
” Am greatful to God that I have scored my first goal, in which I used expertise and pace and to our dear fans, we are greatful, thank you so so much, and it’s because of you that we had much energy, my target as a footballer is to play professional football, that’s why I don’t want to spend much time in Uganda, one or two seasons when God is my side, it will happen.” Kawawa told Sports256.
UPPC/GADDAFI, elevated to the summit of the FBL table tied at 20 points with second placed Blacks Power, but with a better goal difference.
UPPC/GADAFFI, leads the log, Lira no based side Blacks Power and Onduparaka are 2nd and 3rd placed with 20 and 18 points respectively.
