City Oilers Shake off tricky KIU Titans in Game 1 of the NBL play offs.

City Oilers, have made a strong start in their quest for a 10th consecutive title, defeating the KIU Titans 70-61 in game one of the best-of-seven series final playoffs. The match took place at the Lugogo Arena on Wednesday, showcasing the Oilers’ resilience and depth as they continue their dominance in the men’s division.

From the outset, the City Oilers established their authority, leading 37-29 at halftime. Their performance in the opening two quarters demonstrated their experience and skill, setting the stage for what would be a closely contested game. Despite a strong push from the Titans in the third quarter, where they narrowly outscored the Oilers 51-50, City Oilers managed to secure their lead and finish the game with a nine-point margin.

The standout performer for the Oilers was Petty Parrish, whose impressive second game for the team proved instrumental. Parrish led all scorers with 22 points, showcasing his offensive prowess and efficiency. In addition to his scoring, Parrish contributed significantly across other areas of the game, adding five assists, four rebounds, and three steals. His all-around performance was a key factor in the Oilers’ victory.

For the KIU Titans, Peter Obleng came the closest to matching Parrish’s scoring output, finishing the game with 20 points. Despite Obleng’s efforts, the Titans were unable to overcome the Oilers’ well-rounded team performance.
