Federation of Motosport clubs of Uganda (FMU) have unveiled a UGX 50 millions sponsorship package from Vivo Energy Uganda at a press briefing held at the company head office in Muyenga-Kampala on Wednesday.
The sponsorship deal aimed at nurturing talent and fostering the growth of Motor Cross, was timely with the 2024 national motor cross championship set to take place this Weekend at Busika Park.
At the press briefing, the managing director Vivo Energy Uganda Johan Grobbelaar flanked by the FMU president, appreciated the good relationship with FMU and pointed at developing talents as one of the reasons why they decided to sponsor the event.
We have always had a very good relationship with the federation for some time and we have always endeavored to sponsor several events, today we are sponsoring the championship with 50 millions, I believe it will help us nurture and develop talents in the country. We wish you a prosperous event and may the best win. As Vivo energy we shall continue supporting you. He stated.
FMU president Jimmy Akena who started by recognizing the different members of the FMU executive that graced the function, applauded Vivo Energy Uganda for their effort towards development of the sport in the country.
