Log leaders Godfrey Tours and Travel and Touch Sound mantained their good start with comfortable wins over Kayinja and Public beach on matchday three of the ESA Park premier league.
Godfrey Tours beat Kayinja 5-1 in the early kick off and Touch Sound defeated Public beach 2-1 in the third game played at ESA park in Kitubulu.
Bright stars’ Shafiq Kakande shinned brightest, scoring four goals on his debut for Godfrey Tours and Ivan Mayanja as well opened his goal account with a sublime finish
Ex international Owen Kasule Master minded Touch Sound win over Public beach, scored the opener and young star Murushid Bukenya found the second.
In the other games, defending champions Friends of Football (FOF) got their first win of the season when they beat CBICE 3-1. Emmanuel Wasswa scored the first and Seruwagi Martin got a brace for his side.
Shock of the day came in the second last match, when Skynet edged Monique 2-1 in a very exciting encounter to get their first win of the season.
Newbies ABC got their maiden EPPL point when they held FFA 2-2 in the closing fixture played at 10:30pm.
Godfrey Tours and Touch Sound are tied at 9 points in 1st and 2nd positions respectively, Godfrey with a better goal difference five.
Public beach, Monique and Cheetahs are 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively with six points each.
ABC with a single point are in the relegation zone along with bottom placed Semutundu, the only team yet to get a point having lost all their three outings.
Kakande Shafiq (Godfrey Tours), Martin Seruwagi (FOF), Robert Nakabale (Cheetahs), Owen Kasule (Touch Sound), Arafat Kakonge(Skynet) and Obed Brian of ABC won the Skynet stores man of the match awards on the day.
Two bottom plaved teams will be relegated to the ESA Park championship at end of the season.
Noordin Sekajja of Public beach lead the hunt for the golden boot.
