Masaza Cup 2023: Record Champions Gomba Knock out Buddu to Book Buleemezi in Finale.

Five – time (s) champions Gomba eliminated two-time champions Buddu to book a place in the Masaza Cup final 2023.
Wakiso Giants FC young striker Kenneth Kimera scored the all important goal in the return leg played on Monday at Masaka recreation grounds.
Felix Ssekabuza coached side beat Buddu home and away, 0-1 away from home and 2-1 in Kabulasoke Gomba to reach the final.
Gomba beat Ssingo home and away at the quarter final stage earlier to reach the semis.
In the other semi-final that was played at Kasana play ground in Luweero, the home team -Buleemezi eliminated three time champions Mawokota in penalty kicks after a goal-less draw in normal time.
Mansoor Anguwa scored the 4th Buleemezi penalty that sent them to the 2023 final. Opio David and Mansoor Anguwa were other penalty scorers for the finalists.
Kayondo Joseph and Dennis Konde missed Mawokota’s penalties.
Kawooya Felix Ssekabuza beat his former boss Mugerwa Simon with whom they won the first title for Busiro.
Kawooya, will be targeting his first title as head coach of the team and it will be Gomba’s 6th title.
Ssekabuza won the title as assistant to Bisaso at Gomba won it as assistant at Ssingo and won it as assistant to Mugerwa Simon Peter at Busiro.
On the other hand, coach Ibrahim Kirya has won it once with Gomba and will be targeting his second as head coach.
Gomba will be playing in the record 9th Masaza Cup final and it will be the 4th for Buleemezi.
Gomba has won 6 of the 8 finals they have featured in and Buleemezi has won two of the three they have played.
