Jinja Senior Secondary school products Elvis Ngondwe and Lawrence Enzo Tezikya have been handed their maiden senior national team calls for the international friendly games against Mali and Zambia.
The two young stars graduates of Madam Nyago’s Jinja SS project have been considered by the Uganda Cranes interim head coach Morley Byekwaso in the provisional 36 man squad ahead of the October International break.
SC Villa Midfielder Ngondwe and BUL striker Tezikya have been named after an impressive start of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
For Ngondwe’s versatility, he has been played at Left back for the record champions and has formerly played for Jinja SS (Busoga United) and Gadafi modern in the SUPL.
Two-time Copa Coca cola golden boot winner Tezikya on loan at BUL from reigning champions Vipers also featured for Jinja SS (Busoga United).
The duo joins fellow Jinja SS graduates; midfielder Isma Mugulusi and central defenders Najib Fesali and Kenneth Semakula in the Cranes set up.
In-form strikers; Denis Omedi who has been impressive for new boys Kitara, Maroons Fred Amaku, Simon Peter Oketch, Fiat Cleophus, Hudu Mulikyi and Goalkeeper Derrick Ochan are some of the uncommon faces considered by the Sc Villa assistant coach and interim national team manager.
Uganda Cranes will have two international friendly games against Mali on 13th October in Bamako and against Zambia in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The team will enter residential camp on Friday morning at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi.
