St Charles Lwanga SS Kasasa Boys and St John Fisher Ibanda SS will face off tommorrow Saturday 2nd September, 2023 in the Lamennais final at PTC staduim Ibanda at 4:00pm.
The two teams that collect the most points in the group face off in the final of this competition.
Kasasa boys team topped the table, having managed 15 points from the 6 games played in the tournament, with opponents Ibanda SS, managing 13 points, having won four games, one draw and a loss.
This year’s edition was hosted by St.John Fisher Ibanda Secondary School in Ibanda District.
Lamennais Tournament was founded by the Brothers Of Christian Instruction under their Founder Father Jean Marie De Lamennais.
In Girls Football, record champions Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, will be playing in the final with Lamennais College Kyotera.
In the Girl’s classification game,
St Charles Lwanga Kasasa will face Bishop Comboni Kambuga at 8am.
In the Boy’s football, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga will face Lamennais College at 11am.
This annual tournament is played by only schools founded by the Brothers of Christian Instruction.
These schools include St.Charles Lwanga Kasasa, St.John Fisher Ibanda SS, St Mary’s College Kisubi, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga, Caltec Academy Makerere, St. Henry’s College Kitovu, Lamennais College, Bishop Comboni Kambuga.
However, St Henry’s College Kitovu and Caltec Academy Makerere have not participated in this year’s tournament.
For starters, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga football team won last year’s boy’s trophy and St. Charles Lwanga Kasasa Girls won last year’s girls trophy.
