Vipers Sports Club have sacked head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho just after a year and four months since his appointment.
The 2021/22 title winning coach sacked today 29th December 2022 was appointed on 27th August 2021 and replaced Fred Kajoba.
The official release on the club website read.
” The club would like to thank Robertinho for his tireless efforts as the head coach during his time at the club and wish him success in the future.”
” The Club shall in the shortest time possible come out with a statement on the technical bench leadership following the coach’s departure.” It read.
In the 14 first round games, Robertinho has only manged 8 wins, draws and 3 looses. The Venoms have scored 19 goals, conceded five goals managing 27 points.
Robertinho’s last game was the 1-0 loss to relagation threatened side Busoga United FC.
The Brazilian leaves the Venoms in 3rd place at 27 points behind KCCA FC and BUL FC with 29 and 27 points respectively.
At the unveiling of Oliviera, it should be noted that club President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa stated that the Brazilian beat 84 applicants, and that his CV was the most compelling of all.
Olivieira was unveiled together with his assistant Marcelo Cardoso on a three (3) year contract.
Oliviera spent 22 years playing the game and bhas so far managed 25 years as a coach at a high level.
There speculations that former KCCA FC manager Mike Hilary Mutebi, former Express FC coach Alex Gitta, Sam Ssimbwa are among those local that are lined up for the job.
