With the kick off of the best youth soccer tournament on the land around the corner, preparations have geared up for the 10th Edition of the Entebbe Boys and girls football soccer camp 2023.
It’s confirmed, the different teams from with in and outside the country will camp at Kisubi Technical institute 27.9kms from Kampala to Entebbe and will have a full week of football.
Contrary to the 9th edition that was hosted by Nkumba Secondary school (Nkumba Kataka Pitch), the 10th edition will be held at a better facility as tournament chairman. Shafick Kakooza states;
” We thought of bringing the games to better pitches that will enable kids enjoy the games, Kisubi has better playing surfaces, we have visited and already working on all the pitches we shall use, accommodation for the teams is secured and what I can tell the teams, we are good to go.” He stated.
“I want to thank the teams that have confirmed their participation in time, because it helps the organising committee to prepare in time and want to call upon other teams to register before the deadline. Want to conclude by thanking our sponsors and also welcome other able companies and Individuals.” He added
Boys will compete in different Under ages; U-9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and U-20 that will be open.
The girls will have two categories, U-13 and the seniors that will be open to every one.
The team’s that have so far confirmed participating in this year’s edition include hosts; Five Stars SA, The Lions Sports Academy, Entebbe Red star SA, Catalonia SA, Sparta 09 SA, Elite SA, Hil guard SA, Inspire Talented SA.
JKU sports academy from Zanzibar and South Africa based academy Ruaha Sports are so far the two teams from outside the country that have confirmed participation from the many expected.
Teams are paying registration fees of UGX 300.000 on Five Stars FC DFCU account 01501117572463 and this amount caters for the accommodation and feeding for the 20 people contingent for the whole week of participation.
Preferably the best youth tournament on the land, it encompases; soccer academies, schools, football clubs from Uganda, East Africa and Africa.
Screening of the different age categories, will be by physical appearance and will be done by the organizing committee technical team.
The overall champion (Team that will have collected most points from all it’s different age categories, will walk home smiling with UGX 1m, and the runners up will bag UGX 500.000
The tournament will kick off on Monday 9th January and will climax on 15th January 2023 with winners walking home with cash prizes, trophies, jerseys, balls, bibs, medals and others.

In the U-9 category, Joel Sembatya (Sky Sports) was voted MVP, Akanya Mbaziira (Nkumba) was top scorer and afet Mapusi (Sky Sports) scoped the golden glove.
Juma Kaseruka of champions Sky Sports was named MVP, Duncan Mabiike won the golden boot of Elite Soccer Academy and Ali Ssemakula (Elite Soccer Academy) was the best goalie in the U-11 category.
Brian Olwa of Lions Soccer Academy was named MVP in the U-13 category, Francis Balaba (Streamline Soccer Academy) was top scorer and the best goal Keeper was Ali Isma of Lions Soccer Academy.
Brighton Arinda (Lions Soccer Academy was MVP in the U-15, Mark Kagaba (Tooro) scored the most goals and Eddy Waibi (Lions Soccer Academy), was best goalkeeper.
In the U-17 category, Reagan Ssekisambu of Streamline Soccer Academy was named MVP, SC Villa’s Travis Mutyaba (Five Stars Soccer Academy) was top scorer and Collin Mubongi (Streamline Soccer Academy) took the golden glove.
