
Hon. Charles Matovu Cup: Veterans Kabugu, Mukiri on target as Mpala defeat Lyamutundwe in Opener.
It was an exciting evening for the Nkumba, Entebbe people as Honourable Charles Matovu Football tournament kicked off with lots of entertainment including motorcycles races and entertainment from dancers.

The tournament opener saw two veteran players Isma Kabugu and Maddie Mukiri shine with the all important goals for Mpala Village to defeat Lyamutundwe 2-0 at Nkumba Kataka play ground on Sunday.

Former Proline FC forward Kabugu scored in the 63rd minute and Mukiri who featured for Aurum Roses FC in the top tier and Kooki FC closed the scoring in the 82nd minute.
Innocent Luutu, Kamada Tebusweke had clear chances to score for Lyamutundwe before Kabugu broke the deadlock in the second half.
The former Proline star Kabugu put up a Man of the match performance teasing right back Jamil Madilu the whole evening.
Mpala first half chances fell to danger man Martin Seruwagi and Maddie Mukiri but they could as well not utilise them.
The tournament that officially was set to roll by Busiro South Member of Parliament Charles Matovu, will be played at different pitches in Katabi Town council.
Entebbe media team defeated LMK the organisers of Charles Mukasa Cup 2-1 in the curtainrising match at 2:30pm.

The media team missed services of Kawowo’s David Isabirye, NTV’s Ivan Walunyoro and New Vision’s Julius Luwemba who were caught up with official work.
Gugudde TV and Sports256.com chief editor Henry Musabe, Kakooza George William of CBS FM, Salt TV’s Travor Lutaalo, Captain Godfrey Sempijja of Bukedde were part of the winning team.
Actions resumes on Monday as Kisubi take on Kakindu.
Only StarTimes Uganda Premier league players are prohibited to play in this tournament and others are allowed.
Only players born or stay or work in Katabi Town council are allowed to take part in the tournament
The Champion of the LMK YTC Village Sports tournament first edition will take home a Bull, sets of jerseys, medals and balls and each team that will reach the round of 16 stage will get jerseys.
The teams are put in seven (7) groups from A-G.
