URA FC forward Steven Mukwala has pipped teammate Cromwell Rwothomio and Wakiso Giants’ Titus Sematimba to the Uganda Premier League’s Player of the Month accolade for November in an event held at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo on Wednesday.
This is recognition for his scintillating performances which had him score a quadruple against Tooro United.
Mukwala scored five goals in November, all coming in two games, four in a 6-1 win over Tooro and another during a 2-2 draw against BUL FC.
It was a tight contest given that even the other two compititors in his teammate Cromwell Rwothomio and Wakiso Gaints FC’ Titus Ssematimba equally had a brilliant month.
Rwothomio scored three goals while Ssematimba netted four but Mukwala’s five was the better tally.
On the other hand, Wakiso Giants head coach Alex Gitta walked away with the head of the coach accolade.
Gitta beat competition from KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso who won it in October and Vipers SC’s Roberto Oliveira who has had successive nominations without winning any.
