Wonder Kid Rashid Kawawa Among Five Released At Arua Hill SC
Arua Hill Sports Club has released five players from their last season squad in preparation for the StarTimes Uganda Premier league 2022/23 season set to kick off in October.
Head coach Charles Livingston Mbabazi has released Midfielder David Ndihabwe, Rashid Kawawa, Ibrahim Thembo, strikers Alfred Leku and Musa Eseru and will not be part of the 2022/23 season.
Young star Rashid Kawawa who was among the club’s best performers last season and was voted young player of the season, is leaving the club after his contract expired at the end of last season and the club is not set to renew it.
Kawawa recieved his maiden Cranes call in Micho’s squad to prepare for the CHAN Qualifiers.
Their last season Talisman Leku has joined Zesco United after his contract expired at the Arua based club.
Forward Eseru is another player that will not be at Barifa stadium next season and will have to look for a place else where.
Experienced midfielder David Ndihabwe and former Venom Ibrahim Thembo are other players shown the exit door at the Kongolos.
According to our reliable source, the Kongolos are in negotiations to bring in striker Ibrahim Dada from URA FC to replace Alfred Leku and Fazilu Boi from Alaka FC to fill the gap left by Kawawa.
Also, the source can reliably confirm, defender Ibrahim Magandazi is in negotiations for a contract extension.
After having a successful last season, the Kongolos started their pre-season preparations a month ago.
Kawawa was in the starting XI in a pre-season friendly match against Moyo select that ended 1-1.
Arua Hill SC finished 5th with 52 points behind Champions, Vipers, KCCA FC, URA FC and BUL.
