Wakiso Giants FC Unveil Ayala Luyinda As New Head Coach.
StarTimes Uganda premier league club Wakiso Giants, have unveiled John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda as their New head coach at a function held Monday morning at Papo restaurant in Kampala.
Ayala who joins the club from Police Football club fills the gap that was left by Alex Gitta who left the club before last season ended.
He will be deputised by Pius Ngabo as assistant manager and Richard Konsole as goal keeping coach.
Former player Hakim Ssenkumba has been appointed the new trainer and Alex Kizito will handle the Juniors (U-17) at the club.
Ayala is former assistant of coach Abdallah Mubiru at Police FC and was under coach Mike Mutebi at KCCA FC and worked at Vipers as an assistant to John Nsimbe.
He has joined on the purple sharks on a two-year deal that will see him handle the club from 2022 to 2024.
Luyinda was named Mubiru’s replacement at Police last season for an interim basis and his side was relagated to second tier of Ugandan football.
The Club CEO Sula Kamoga, asserted they took time to pick the best coach for the club and promised support to Ayala.
” I want to first thank all our partners more so Papo restaurant where we are for the years we have walked. Our target is clear is to be the number one club in the country on and off the pitch.
” The key factors at the club are; sporting, financial and the social aspect. We have been progressing since we started we started by being 10th in the first season, 9th in the second and 7th in the 3rd. So, as management we shall provide a condusive environment for them and support the coaches in any way and we wish them an exciting journey of their career.” Kamoga stated.
The club new coach Luyinda was delighted with the new assignment.
” Am limited with words with joy that am appointed head coach of this ambitious club, I have been assistant to top notch coaches for the last ten years so I feel am ready for the task.” Luyinda stated.
” I want to thank the coaches I have worked under for the guidance and advise and thank the former Wakiso Giants former coaches for the work they have done.”
“To the fans , I promise them good, free flowing football.”
” I want to thank my family, wife and Wakiso players, friends and more so the management for the trust to lead this club.” He added.
The club chairman Hassan Lule welcomed the new technical staff with open arms and revealed their ultimate target is to win the title.
” I want to also thank our partners, we have concentrated more on good governance and administration so that we can have the public with us. That’s why we have brought on board a manger that will move in our line. I want the managers to feel at home because they have the support from the management.
” Success may not be determined by winning trophies, but could be determined by other factors in reference to our set targets.” Lule stated.
Ayala played for top clubs in the country that included; Maji (Water), Kampala United , SC Villa and KCCA FC where he started his coaching career.
