Relegation Threatened Villa Hold KCCA FC in Kampala Derby

Ten (10) Man Sports Club Villa Jogoo Ssalongo and Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club played to a goalless draw in the StarTimes Uganda premier league Kampala derby played on Saturday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

It was a vital point for the Jogoos fighting for their top tier life away to a title contenders the Kasasiro boys when they had twenty five to play with a man less after left back Joseph Kafumbe was shown matching orders for a second bookable offence.

It was quite clear from the start that Koukoras’ men wanted a point from this game when he packed five at the back with two defensive minded midfielders Amir Kakomo and Davis Sekajja providing the curtain to the back form.

The Greek tactician employed five at the back that comprised of; Gavin Kizito, Kenneth Senkatuka, Benard Agere, Gift Fred and former KCCA FC player Joseph Kafumbe that did the work well.

The Kampala derby didnot live to the expected billing with less highlights and later in the second half the rain interrupted the game.

The hosts got the Lions’ share of possession, as well as the attempts on target but young star Sadat Anaku could not convert his two chances.

The visitors’ best chance fell to speed merchant Sadam Masereka who failed to beat goal keeper Benjamin Ochan.

The eighth draw of the season, meant the Jogoos jumped a point out of the relagation zone are now 12th with 19 points from 20 outings.

Also the 8th draw for the Kasasiro boys, was a disappointing result for the hosts throwing away two points that would tie them at 43 points with leaders Vipers.

The Jogoos in their relagation battle at 19 points, have Bright Stars (19), Onduparaka (18), Mbarara City (18) and Tooro (12) below them
