Kyaggwe Ssaza FC will this season, heavily relly on Sulaiman Kiwanuka financial support if they are to win their first ever Masaza Cup title.


Sulaiman Kiwanuka was on the front in the last edition of Masaza Cup campaign with different sponsorship packages to the different teams, outstanding individuals and his Nakifuma people.


Kiwanuka a business man with burning political desires, is yet to launch his package for this year’s masaza tournament.


He has been part of Kyaggwe preparations for the tournament where he has led the team’s fundraising campaigns.

In the fundraising and preparation games, Kyaggwe defeated Kasawo select at Nakaswa Playground in Kasawo Subcounty and drew 2-2 with the Spartans FC at Namumila – Nakisunga road last Wednesday.


“Being a football man, I will always do the needful for the development of the game in general. I haven’t yet unveiled my package for the team this year but what I can promise is that I am going to give my support as always.” Kiwanuka stated.


Kyaggwe will open up against Ssaza Busiro at Nakisunga playground next weekend.


The Masaza Cup 2022 kicked off at Masaka recreation grounds with a 0-0 draw between hosts Buddu and Mawogola a game that was graced e by his majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.


‘The lion of Nakifuma’ as many of constituency people prefer calling him, was one of Kabaka’s invited guests at Masaka recreation grounds for the opening fixture.


His presence was recognized for his effort in the last edition and was welcomed by the Masaza chairman for sports Haj Sulaiman Ssejjengo at Masaka who led him to Katikkiro with his group of four other members from Friends Of Kiwanuka organisation

Kiwanuka was earlier named team manager of Buganda masaza select which he Sponsored and facilitated and drew 1-1 with the Uganda Cranes in the friendly at Wakisha.

Kiwanuka’s Spartans FC Ssaza defeated Bugerere in another match that was aimed at helping them to prepare.


He also paid 100 dollars for each goal they scored and as well did the same on final day at Kitende paying 100 dollars for each goal as Buddu won Buwekula 2-0.


The top scorer last season, also walked away with 100 dollars and the best coach pocketed the same amount courtsey of Friends of Kiwanuka organization.


Other football related responsibilities away from Masaza.


Kiwanuka has been appointed the chairman on sports committee of Namungoona clan and Namungoona will open up against Nkejje on Tuesday at Wakisha.


He as well been made the sponsor for ongoing Buganda Paris games (emipiira j’emiruka) in Nakifuma which are being funded by him through Friends Of Kiwanuka organisation.
